Exceptions
CodeTwo Exchange Rules Pro processes messages according to defined conditions. However, you can also define exceptions that, once met, will exclude messages from being processed.
The exceptions for a given rule are provided by the user in the Exceptions tab separately for each rule (Fig. 1.).

Info
Please note that you may use as many exceptions as you want within one rule.
The exceptions can be configured for all types of the available conditions:
- Sender
- Recipient
- Subject
- Body
- Message direction
- Message header
- Message type
- Attachments
- Secure message type
The exceptions are defined in the same way as conditions using four identical factors:
- And/Or - defines the logical relationship between exceptions.
- Field - lets a user choose the type of exception.
- Operator - this field depends on the chosen exception type and defines how it will be executed. The execution method may only be set to true.
- Value - this field depends on the chosen exception type and defines the actual or expected value of the exception. This value will trigger the associated rule to exclude the action.
The logic behind using the And/Or relationships between the exceptions is the same as in the case of conditions and works identically. Furthermore, the exceptions can also be grouped using the grouping brackets.
Info
Once the exceptions are added you may remove them via the Remove () button at any point.
