Add attachment
CodeTwo Exchange Rules Pro lets you automatically add attachments to messages. The attachments are added by the program while the message is being processed by an Exchange server.
Normally, to send a message with an attachment a user needs to add it manually at the client machine. If you configure and activate the Add attachment action in the program, the program will automatically add selected attachments to messages as long as the defined Conditions are met.
This feature might be useful, e.g. when your company is running a promotion campaign via email and needs to add files to the outgoing mail. By using the Add attachment action, your Marketing department may rest assured that they will not forget to add any vital files while sending their mail because the files will automatically be attached.
How to configure this action
To activate this action in a given rule, click Add on the Actions tab and select Add attachment (Fig. 1.).

A new Add attachment action will appear on the List of actions while the right pane will show its properties (Fig. 2.).

The location of the attachments that will be inserted to messages processed by CodeTwo Exchange Rules Pro is selected in the properties pane. There are two options available:
- Attach all files from the folder - by choosing this option, all attachments from a local folder will be added to a message that meets the defined criteria.
- Attach files from the following list - this option enables you to pick individual files to attach them to messages. Please note that you may add as many attachments as you want at once.
Once you define the path to a folder or files, it will appear on the list (Fig. 3.).

Info
Please note that in order for the attachments to be added to the sent mail, the Windows Network Service account needs to have the read access rights granted to the chosen folders or files. Otherwise, the attachments will not be processed.
Once the Add attachment action is added to the rule, all messages that meet the criteria defined in Conditions will have the defined attachments added automatically.
