When you open the Users tab for the first time, there will be only one default user available on the List of available users called the Local Guest. This is a public folders kind of user, whose access rights to the public folders are restricted by default (however, may be changed by the administrator at any point). Thanks to this solution, every user does not have to wait for the administrator to create his/her account and can connect to the local Syncing Master just after the installation of the Outlook Add-in is completed.
Info
The Local Guest user may only be used with the Local network only connection type. This user type is unavailable with other types of connection with the Syncing Master.
Using the Users tab, the administrator can manage other users' accounts:
-
To create a new user account click New and choose between:
- the Standard user - the same as the Public Folders user, whose logon credentials and access rights are set by the CodeTwo Public Folders administrator,
- the Active Directory user - the same as the Domain user, whose logon credentials and access rights are set by the company's domain administrator,
- the Anonymous user - logon method available only in the Mobile App, whose access rights are set by the CodeTwo Public Folders administrator.
After choosing the user type, a window will display asking for a login name and a password. Remember that the same password has to be entered twice (Fig. 2.). To make it easier, you can check the Show password option to see what you are typing. After clicking OK, the new account will be ready to use.
