We’ve released a new version of the modern Signatures Web Add-in for Outlook & OWA. The update brings unified add-in experience in all signature modes (including signature preview in the cloud mode) and Outlook for Mac support. Now you have one add-in to rule them all!
Depending on the signature mode in which CodeTwo Email Signatures for Office 365 works, the Web Add-in now adds automatic signatures to emails in Outlook (client-side and combo mode) or shows a preview of signatures added in the cloud after an email is sent (server-side mode; the preview feature can also be enabled in combo mode – keep reading to learn more), rendering our dedicated signature preview add-in obsolete.
The new version also comes with advanced configuration options that let you change how the Web Add-in interacts with various Outlook settings.
Support for Outlook for Mac
The Web Add-in works with new Outlook for Mac (with new UI) connected to a Microsoft 365 subscription, Version 16.59 (Build 22031300) and newer. Just like in Outlook for Windows and Outlook on the web (OWA), the Web Add-in automatically adds signatures as users type their emails and allows users to preview their server-side signatures.
Our Dev team was deeply involved with Microsoft Outlook Add-in Team in testing their new API for Outlook for Mac used by our Web Add-in (learn more). We continue to work closely with Microsoft to further improve user experience in Outlook (all versions).

Signature preview feature
Our Web Add-in now also supports the server-side (cloud) signature mode. Users can use the add-in to see what signature(s) will be added to their email in the cloud (after the email is sent) while they compose it in Outlook and OWA.
If you configured different signatures for different recipients, the Web Add-in’s pane will show all available signatures. Signatures change in real time as users make changes to their email (add or remove recipients, use keywords, etc.). Find out more about this feature in the user’s manual
Important:
The Web Add-in replaces the CodeTwo Email Signatures for Office 365 Add-in (preview add-in), which is now deprecated. We encourage customers who are currently using the deprecated add-in to fully switch to the modern CodeTwo Signatures Web Add-in for Outlook & OWA. The modern Web Add-in supports all signature modes, is easier to deploy and manage, and will be getting even more features in the future.
Be sure to check which versions of Outlook are supported by the modern Web Add-in before you make the switch.
Advanced add-in options
New advanced settings are now available for CodeTwo Signatures Web Add-in for Outlook & OWA. To access them, log in to CodeTwo Admin Panel, go to the Dashboard or the Tenants tab and click the Manage tenant () button next to the name of your tenant. Use the menu on the left to go to Outlook add-in > Modern Web Add-in and click Show/hide advanced options.
Important: The advanced options change how the Web Add-in interacts with Outlook. Make sure you understand how they work before enabling them.
The four settings that are available here can be used to:
- Disable end users’ default signatures in Outlook and OWA – if users have any custom default signatures in their Outlook, they will no longer be automatically added to emails (which might have resulted in double signatures in server-side mode – one from CodeTwo and another one from Outlook).
- Hide non-critical Web Add-in’s notifications shown above an email in compose mode.
- Make the Web Add-in add different client-side signatures based on the email address selected in the From field of an email.
- Allow end users to switch between client-side (Outlook) and server-side (cloud) signatures directly in Outlook and OWA (available in combo mode only). Note: If you use the combo mode, the Web Add-in by default works in the same way as in the client-side mode – it automatically adds signatures directly to emails as users type.

How to update the Web Add-in?
Users who already use the CodeTwo Signatures Web Add-in for Outlook & OWA do not need to do anything – the add-in updates automatically to the latest version. This means your users should already have the new version in their Outlook.
