New admin access roles in CodeTwo Admin Panel – invite other users to manage your organization’s tenants & subscriptions

New admin roles

The new feature introduces two new admin roles in CodeTwo Email Signatures for Office 365:

• Admin Panel owner can manage all tenants and subscriptions, add and remove Admin Panel admins, change ownership and manage organization’s billing info in the Admin Panel. There can only be one owner for a given organization in CodeTwo Admin Panel.
• Admin Panel admins can manage tenants and subscriptions. There can be multiple admins for a given organization in CodeTwo Admin Panel.

There is also the third role, Signature rule admin, that has been available in the CodeTwo Admin Panel for some time. Users (or groups of users) assigned this role have access to and can manage email signature rules within their Microsoft 365 tenants.

How to use the new admin roles

If you’re an existing user, then your CodeTwo Admin Panel account has automatically become the owner for your organization, and you can now invite other admins or change ownership, if necessary. Read on to learn how to do that.

If your organization has not registered to CodeTwo Email Signatures for Office 365 yet, then the first user that creates a CodeTwo Admin Panel account for your organization automatically becomes the owner of that organization’s Admin Panel.

Provide admin access to CodeTwo Admin Panel to other users

To grant access to your organization’s Admin Panel to other admins, first log in to the CodeTwo Admin Panel with an owner account. Next, click the user icon in the upper-right corner of the Admin Panel, select Account & admins, and click Admins in the navigation menu on the left.

From here you can invite users (from within and outside your organization) to join your organization as CodeTwo Admin Panel admins. They will get an email invitation with an activation link. Learn more about the procedure in the user’s manual

Note that to manage admins in the CodeTwo Admin Panel, the owner account needs to use the Microsoft account login type. Find out how to change login type to Microsoft account here.

Change CodeTwo Admin Panel ownership

You can also seamlessly transfer the ownership of the organization’s Admin Panel account to another admin. To do so, access the Admins page as shown in the picture above, and click Set as Owner next to the admin you want to become the new owner (you will be also asked to confirm this change). Keep in mind that this person will become the new owner immediately and you will lose your CodeTwo Admin Panel ownership but you will remain an admin.
