If your organization uses many email signature rules, it’s now easier than ever to test how they work. Use the new signature rules tester in CodeTwo Email Signatures 365 to create a test email and see if it triggers any of your signature rules.
Rule testing works with both cloud (server-side) and Outlook (client-side) rules, and it will help you:
- check if the correct signature is applied to a specific email (or made available in Outlook for intended end users),
- with troubleshooting, e.g. to find out why a specific signature was not added or to consult your rule setup with CodeTwo support.
How does it work?
The signature rules tester is available in the Signatures app (app.codetwo.com). Click the TEST RULES button above the rules list to launch it:
Start by creating a test email to simulate all the conditions – like who will send and receive the email, test specific keywords (if your rules are triggered by them), etc.
When you’re done, click Test now to see which cloud (server-side) and Outlook (client-side) rules apply to this message based on your CodeTwo setup. The rules that apply are shown in green. To find out why some rules don’t apply, see the Reason column.
Visit our manual to learn more and find out how to interpret the rule test results.
Is there any thoughts to when the option to preview the signature will be released?
Hi Daryl,
We can’t provide any specific date yet but stay tuned for updates.
I am missing the option to preview the signature…
We have the signature preview for the rules tester on our product roadmap. Stay tuned for updates.
Very cool, this will be a great help
Great tool!
Would it possible to add an option to select the user that is sending the email to see the results of a shared mailbox situation (on behalf and Send as)?
Hi Eric,
This option is already there: when creating a test email, you can modify the sender’s email address in the From field. By default, the field contains the email address of the signed-in user but you can choose a different sender (user or shared mailbox) from your organization. Visit our manual to learn more.
