    Like I said, you can never be sure how such a disclaimer will be treated during the lawsuit but for sure sometimes it can prevent someone from pressing charges against you. What is more, there are countries in which adding disclaimers concerning specific areas is a legal requirement and you simply have to add them to your business emails.

  2. Email disclaimers are a terrible idea.

    Although I don’t believe they’ve been tested in court (I’m in the U.S.), email disclaimers have no force of law, because you can’t unilaterally stipulate the conditions of a contract, especially AFTER the email has been “consumed”, i.e. read.

    Perhaps if the specific email contains trade secrets or copyrighted material, you could make a case that the contents were legally protected.
