Case Study by F&B Law - CodeTwo Exchange Sync

Company description

F&B Law is a Texas-based, full-service Intellectual Property (IP) law firm, whose main focus is IP litigation and counseling.

Problem

F&B Law makes use of an IT service company to get comprehensive IT support and service management. Their messaging system is based on hosted Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 which meets security requirements of a law correspondence, but has some limitations as far as mobility and remote access are concerned. Due to the characteristics of their job, F&B attorneys often need to use their Exchange accounts when working from the outside of their offices. Mostly, they connect with their mailboxes by means of Active Sync and mobile phones. Unfortunately, these devices are not capable of syncing public Exchange calendars and contacts. This was the main concern which made the company look for a solution.

Solution

Joshua Casario, the System Analyst responsible for resolving the problem of F&B Law, made an in-depth analysis of available solutions on the Web and this is how he found CodeTwo Exchange Sync. In his opinion, the synchronization features offered by CodeTwo Exchange Sync were strongly desired by many users and seemed a must-have for almost every company using mobile devices with Exchange Server. “It does what Microsoft should have included into Exchange 2007 and 2010 and probably will be a couple of years before they have the same type of product integrated“, says Joshua Casario.

After implementing CodeTwo Exchange Sync as a part of their hosted solution, F&B Law now use this program for:

  • Synchronizing public Exchange contact list with mobile phones
  • Synchronizing private schedules with public Exchange calendar via smartphone
