In December 2017, we wrote an article on our blog informing that CodeTwo Office 365 Migration had been included in Gartner’s report on cloud migration tools. This filled us with pride and reassured us that our product is one of the leading Office 365 migration tools on the market. However, that didn’t stop us from going the extra mile and improving our program even further. And now we are pleased to announce that CodeTwo has once again been named as a Representative Vendor in Gartner’s 2019 Market Guide for Cloud Office Migration Tools*.
On March 31, 2019 we celebrate the World Backup Day, a special day reminding us of the importance of data backups. This is a perfect time to look closer at you company backup systems. Are they in place? Do they actually work and can you use them when it’s really needed? To me this is going to be personal. Why? No longer than yesterday, I was confident that I have my home backups under control. Now I am tearing my hair out as I have lost about 1TB of photographs from like… my whole life. What a pain!
Having my personal tragedy in mind, take a moment to double-check your backups. Not only the private backups but more importantly backups that are supposed to secure your company data – just in case.
Spoofing and phishing, these two words seem to have drawn special attention recently. In the light of that, organizations are looking for ways to protect their data against cyberattacks by deploying different security solutions and by educating users. But still, some attacks are successful. Mainly because end users are tricked to click bad links or open infected attachments. That is why admins search for ways to help end users pay greater attention to emails they receive, especially those coming from external domains. One method is by adding a warning message to incoming emails.
Our CodeTwo Exchange Rules family of products has been expanded with a new solution designed for Exchange Server 2019 – CodeTwo Exchange Rules 2019. The program allows you design and deploy email signatures and disclaimers centrally, for each user or group of users in your organization. Plus, it comes with a ton of features that significantly enhance the handling of signatures in an Exchange organization.
CodeTwo Email Signatures for Office 365 has gained a new highly demanded feature: ’Manage Signatures App users’. This functionality is now available in all geolocations. Office 365 administrators can now easily delegate email signature management tasks to someone else. Thanks to that, you can make the email signature management workflow much easier. Here are some examples of how you can use it:
Delegate all email signature management tasks to the marketing department. They will be in charge of choosing the right email signature banner and designing the signature template. You can also add legal department, so that they can make sure that every outbound email gets the right disclaimer and all the company information it requires.
Chose specific people to manage email signatures in your company. As a global admin, you will also have access to the Manage Signatures App. You can ask other users to save new email signature adding rules in turned off mode. As a result, it will allow you to verify if all conditions and exceptions to rules are well-configured.
As we are approaching Christmas here at CodeTwo, we would like to wish you all happy holidays. May you have a great festive season and a prosperous 2019, full of positive challenges!

In the era of security regulations such as GDPR, companies are putting a great effort into making email protection technologies more widely available. Lately, Microsoft has introduced significant changes to Office 365, helping users to safeguard their messages in a quicker and easier way. As people send more and more protected emails on a daily basis, some of you might be wondering: How this works with CodeTwo software?
Exchange Online, similarly to the on-premises Exchange, contains a number of attributes you can set for each user. Personal details, address, organization-related and contact information – it can all be set up in Office 365. While for some Office 365 organizations, standard AD fields are enough, sometimes there is a need for a non-standard field. That is where custom attributes come in handy. In the article, I show how to set up Office 365 custom attributes and what are the possible examples of use for them.
We are excited to let you know that our backup solutions, CodeTwo Backup for Office 365 and CodeTwo Backup for Exchange, have been upgraded to version 2.0 and now support SharePoint on-premises, SharePointOnline and OneDrive for Business backups. Together with mailbox and Public Folders backup features, companies using these tools gain the ability to address more complex backup needs with just one application on board.
