Data Protection Notice for Social Media

Published: January 13, 2026.

Summary

CodeTwo cares about the security of your personal data and your privacy. This Data Protection Notice ("Notice") will help you understand what data we collect, how we use it, and how you can exercise your rights. This Notice applies to CodeTwo’s social media profiles ("Profiles").

When processing personal data of individuals who visit, follow, or interact with our Profiles, we may act as a joint controller of personal data. This means that we determine the purposes and means of processing your personal data jointly with certain platforms. Detailed information on the division of responsibilities between joint controllers for specific social media platforms can be found below:

What information does CodeTwo collect and when?

When you visit, follow, or interact with the Profiles, we may process your first and last name or nickname, as well as other information that is publicly available on your profile or that you voluntarily provide to us. We will process your data for the purpose of informing you about our services, building a positive image of CodeTwo, or for the purpose of exercising our other legitimate interests related to CodeTwo’s marketing activities. If you contact us via social media, we will process your personal data to respond to your questions, messages, or comments.

Providing your personal data is voluntary but necessary to follow or interact with CodeTwo’s Profiles on social media and to ask questions, send messages, or comment throughout these media.

How long do we store your data?

Data necessary for following CodeTwo’s Profiles on social media or for asking questions, sending messages, and commenting through these media is stored for as long as you do not delete the messages, or you remain a follower of our Profiles, or you interact with them. Your interactions, such as comments or likes, will remain visible on the Profiles even after you stop following CodeTwo’s Profiles, until you withdraw or delete them.

User rights

You have the right to request access to your personal data, as well as the right to rectify or erase it. You also have the right to restrict the processing of your personal data. If processing your personal data is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw the consent at any time. Withdrawal of your consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing of personal data that took place before its withdrawal. If processing of your personal data is carried out for the purpose of pursuing our legitimate interests, you also have the right to object to such processing.

Your personal data will not be used for automated decision-making or profiling. More information about your rights can be found in our Privacy Policy (https://www.codetwo.com/regulations/privacy/).

Data recipients

We ensure protection of all personal data relating to you, and we do not disclose this information to third parties in cases other than those listed below, unless we obtain your consent or the disclosure of data is necessary due to a legal obligation imposed on us. If you visit or follow CodeTwo’s Profiles, or interact with them, we may share your personal data with the following entities:

  • social media platform operators where we have Profiles;
  • our advisors;
  • government administration, judiciary, and law enforcement authorities, if required by law. In each case, we will strive for representatives of the mentioned entities to request the disclosure of data directly from you. If we are obligated to disclose data, we will promptly notify you and provide a copy of the request, unless we are legally prohibited from doing so.

Your public interactions with our Profiles (such as likes and comments) may also be visible to other users of the platform where the Profile is placed – for as long as you do not withdraw or delete them.

International data transfers

Your personal data may be transferred outside the European Economic Area (EEA) by social media platforms, based on the mechanisms described in the GDPR, including decisions of the European Commission or standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission. All information regarding the scope and basis of data transfers outside the EEA can be found on these platforms, and questions on this matter should be addressed directly to them.
