Mail client related errors during installation of CodeTwo Public Folders
This article is meant for users of CodeTwo Public Folders. This software has been discontinued. You can check the list of currently available CodeTwo products here.
Problem:
During installation of the Outlook Add-in (client module) of CodeTwo Public Folders, you get the errors shown below (or similar).
Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Office Outlook and set it as the default mail client.
MAPIAdminProfiles failed. Unspecified error (0x80004005)
This may take place even though Microsoft Outlook has been selected as your default email client.

Solution:
If the above errors display, you need to make sure that Microsoft Outlook is the default mail client.
Guidelines for Windows 10
- Open the Start menu, type default app settings and press Enter.
Tip
You can also access the default app settings from the Windows Control Panel by choosing Default Programs > Set your default programs.
- Make sure that your Microsoft Outlook version is selected in the Email section (Fig. 3.). If not, change your current mail client to Outlook.

- Restart and complete the installation of CodeTwo software.
Guidelines for older Windows versions
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Choose from the top menu Tools and Internet Options.
- Go to Programs tab and select Microsoft Office Outlook forE-mail, Calendar and Contact List.
- Restart and complete the installation of CodeTwo software.
Now the installation should be restarted.
