CodeTwo Backup closes on launch – log file access issue

Problem:

When you launch CodeTwo Backup, you get the following error message:

Access to the path <path to a CodeTwo Backup log file> is denied

After clicking OK in the popup, CodeTwo Backup closes, and you cannot use the program.

Solution:

To eliminate the problem, you need to rename the TXT log file shown in the error message. You can do this by following the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the path shown in the error message using File Explorer.
  2. Locate the log file and change its name the way you want, e.g. by adding a single character.
  3. Now, launch your CodeTwo backup software again – now it should open just fine.
