Supported platforms and requirements
CodeTwo Email Signatures On-prem is designed to work with Microsoft Exchange Server Subscription Edition (SE) and hybrid environments.
The program consists of two main components that must be installed. These components have slightly different system requirements. Refer to the description and the table below for an overview of supported systems and requirements necessary for smooth, uninterrupted operation of the program.
There is no need to install anything on end users’ machines – this is a server-side solution.

The CodeTwo Email Signatures On-prem Services is a set of services (CodeTwo Exchange Transport Agent, CodeTwo Mail Processor, CodeTwo App Monitor, CodeTwo Sent Items Update) responsible for processing rules and settings configured in the Administration Panel and applying them to emails as they travel through Exchange Server. CodeTwo Email Signatures On-prem Administration Panel, installed on any workstation (client machine) or alongside the services (directly on Exchange Server). The Administration Panel is the management console used to configure rules and other program settings. The Administration Panel sends these settings to the CodeTwo Mail Processor, which then process them accordingly. Learn more |

| Notes and warnings: | It is impossible to install program components using Group Policy Object (GPO) or other unattended or remote deployment methods. The installation has to be performed manually on each machine. |
| Linked mailboxes are supported; however, Active Directory data such as AD user properties and AD group membership is obtained from the domain controller of the environment in which Exchange Server and the CodeTwo services are installed. | |
| Encrypted and digitally signed emails are processed if the S/MIME or Active Directory Rights Management Services (AD RMS) standard is used. Others, such as PGP or OpenPGP (e.g. GPG), are not yet supported. | |

| Size on disk after installation: | When both the Administration Panel and the Email Signatures On-prem Services are installed, the installation size on your disk is similar to the size of the installation file (see the Download page for details). Installation of additional components (such as .NET) might be required - these components usually require less than 100 MB of available disk space. |
