Sensitive Content Removal
Below you will find a quick guide to creating in CodeTwo Exchange Rules PRO a rule that will be responsible for removing sensitive content from email messages. This feature will be useful in companies that want to stop sensitive content such as credit card details to leak out of the company in electronic mail. By following a few simple steps you can employ a companywide rule in CodeTwo Exchange Rules PRO that will remove confidential data from email messages.

To create a new rule click Add in the List of rules pane. A new dialog box Add new rule will open. Provide the name for the rule in the text field e.g. Remove Sensitive Content and confirm by clicking OK

A new rule named Remove sensitive content will appear in the List of rules pane while the right pane will show the rule property tabs (Fig.1.).

The rule tabs i.e. Overview, Conditions, Actions, Exceptions, Options are used to tune how the rule should work. Now you need to perform a few simple steps inside the tabs in order to configure the rule.

Overview. This tab is used to add a comment to the rule. Also, it will be updated with data from all remaining tabs as you configure them.

Conditions. In the Conditions tab you define the criteria that a message needs to meet in order for the rule to be applied. If you leave the Conditions tab empty, the rule will apply to all messages.

Actions. In the Actions tab click Add and choose Remove Sensitive Content from the menu (Fig.2.).

Choose Remove Sensitive Content.

Exceptions. In the Exceptions tab you define the conditions in which the rule must not apply. You can leave this tab empty.

Options. The Options tab is discussed in a separate chapter. You can leave the default settings in this tab.

The final step is to save the changes by clicking Save in the top left corner of the program main window. After saving the changes CodeTwo Exchange Rules PRO will start applying the rule for defined messages on the server immediately. The rule will remove sensitive content from email messages.
