Forward message
CodeTwo Exchange Rules PRO enables you to set up an automatic forward for any message that is processed by Exchange. Any message that meets the rule criteria can be forwarded to one or multiple users without any action on the end user's part.

This feature may be useful to automatically forward an invoice to the accounting department when the purchasing department receives the document. There is no need to remember to forward the invoice because CodeTwo Exchange Rules PRO will do it to every message that meets the criteria (Conditions).

How it works

Typically, when a new email that your receive needs to be forwarded to another person you must do it manually on the client machine (Fig.1.). In CodeTwo Exchange Rules PRO if you configure and activate the Forward message rule, all messages that meet the defined Conditions will be automatically forwarded to the predefined mailbox without any action on the end user's part (Fig.2.). See the example below with an invoice forwarded to the accounts payable.

How to configure this action

To activate this action in a given rule, go to the Actions tab, click Add and choose Forward message from the menu (Fig.3.).

A new entry, Forward message, will be added in the List of Actions field, while the right pane will show the action properties (Fig .4.) where message addresses can be defined.

In this pane you can define the recipients of automatic forwards. To add a recipient click Add (Fig.5.) and choose the type of recipient.

When you select Email address a dialog box will open where you can define an email address where the messages matching the rule criteria forwards will be directed (Fig.6.).

When you select User (Fig.7.) a typical dialog box will open for picking users from Active Directory (Fig.8.). Choose the user(s) who are supposed to receive message forwards.

When you have selected the recipients for messages forwards, you can set the rule to modify the subject of the message on the fly using the field below the list of recipients (Fig.9.). This option is further described in the Modify subject action.
