Program's architecture

CodeTwo Exchange Rules Pro is an ultimate Exchange toolbox used for managing email flow within organizations. Its architecture is based on two components responsible for the creation of email rules and their processing:

  • Exchange Rules Pro Service - a set of services responsible for processing rules and settings defined within the Administration Panel and applying them to messages traveling through the Exchange Server.
  • Administration Panel - a management console used to configure rules and other settings associated with the program's operation.

The diagram below shows the architecture of the program (Fig. 1.).

You need to choose Exchange Rules Pro Service while performing installation on the Exchange Server with the Hub Transport (Exchange 2007/2010) or Mailbox Role (Exchange 2013/2016). Therefore, this component needs to be installed on each Exchange Server with the aforementioned roles. On the other hand, the Administration Panel's installation can be performed on any machine within the domain. However, please do it wisely and install it only on machines whose users will be delegated to manage the program.

Please note that you can install/uninstall the program's components anytime via the Windows Control Panel. Learn more
