Dynamic Fields
With the CodeTwo Exchange Rules PRO Dynamic Fields feature you can create templates that will dynamically retrieve data from Active Directory, from the location on the hard drive or from the message properties. These fields may contain detailed information about the message sender, they can be used to insert images and blocks of text, count emails etc. To create the template with the dynamic content simply insert the desired placeholder into it in Template Editor.

How it works

One of the practical uses of Dynamic Fields is a personalized signature. You only have to create one template for the whole organization (Fig.1.) and then CodeTwo Exchange Rules PRO will replace Dynamic Fields with the appropriate data from Active Directory and the message (Fig.2.).

Which Dynamic Fields are available to use?

Dynamic Fields are divided into five groups in Template Editor:

  1. Message sender. Use these placeholders to insert dynamic data into the messages related to the sender of the message. This data contains personal, contact and organization details and is filled in Active Directory by the system administrator at the server level for each user (Fig.3.).

  2. Message sender

  3. Dynamic content. This group consists of two placeholders - Rotating image and Rotating text. When placed in the template these fields will automatically import text or graphic files from the defined location on the hard drive (Fig.4.). It can be configured to pick files from the source folder sequentially or randomly.

  4. Dynamic content

  5. Message properties. The content of these placeholders are typical properties of the email – its subject, message id or details about the server that processes the email (Fig.5.).

  7. Counters. These fields are configurable counters that increase its value for each sent email. They can count on a daily, monthly or annual basis (Fig.6.).

  9. General. This menu contains one Dynamic Field which is a current date/time placeholder. The placeholder stamps the date and time when the email is processed by the server (Fig.7.).
