Testing Rule Selection
The list of rules will frequently contain multiple entries, and the application criteria for each one can be complex. Testing rules option enables checking the functioning of all rules. Using it, you can test which rules will apply to a particular sender and recipient and whether the message will contain a footer or not and how the whole will finally look. To open the Test Rules screen (Fig.1), click Test or use CTRL+T shortcut in the main screen of CodeTwo Exchange Rules 2007 screen.![]() |

To test rule selection, specify the sender's address as well as the address(es) of the recipient(s) to the message, and click Test button.
The first text field shows the rule selection process and it includes information on which rules apply and which do not, as well as which addresses meet the criteria specified in the rules.
The second field shows a message preview with a sample body. If one or several rules apply, the disclaimers will appear in the preview pane in exactly the same way they would look in messages sent via Exchange Server for the defined senders and recipients.
Each footer has a HTML and plain text template. In the preview pane you can see what the footer will look like for each of these formats using HTML Disclaimer and TXT Disclaimer
