Definition and benefits of Support contract continuity
The Support contract continuity means that you purchased a Support contract together with the product and extended its validity when required.
For example, if you purchased CodeTwo Exchange Rules 2016 together with a one-year Support contract, you meet the conditions of the Support contract continuity for 12 months since the time of your purchase. If you fail to renew the Support contract before it expires, you will not maintain the Support contract continuity and will lose the benefits of it.
If you maintain the Support contract continuity, you will get a free upgrade to a newer version of a given product (if it comes out) or a discount if you want to migrate to a similar CodeTwo product.
- If you have CodeTwo Exchange Rules 2016, you can get a free upgrade to CodeTwo Exchange Rules 2016 2 if the new version comes out.
- If you have CodeTwo Exchange Rules 2016, you can get a discount if you want to migrate to a similar product (e.g. CodeTwo Email Signatures 365, or CodeTwo Exchange Rules Pro).
What is more, renewing a Support contract before it expires, entitles you to a Support contract discount (see Discounted price list in the table below).
If you wish to purchase Support contract separately or after your Support contract has expired, you lose the benefits of Support contract continuity and you have to buy the Support contract for a standard price, shown in the Standard price list column.

If you have a valid Support contract and are currently ordering an upgrade of your program or migrating to a different program, technical support of which is more expensive than the one you have now, you will only be asked to pay a price difference. Because upgrades or migrations do not extend your Support contract, the price will be reduced according to the used period of your Support contract.
When you order additional licenses, the price for technical support depends on the number of additional email addresses. The cost for additional licenses is the same as the cost for new licenses in the table, but it is reduced according to the used period of your Support contract. See the examples below to see how the price is calculated.
Example 1 (for customers who maintain the Support contract continuity)
You have 150 licenses for CodeTwo Exchange Rules 2016 together with a Support contract that was purchased 9 months ago for $209. Currently, you want to buy licenses for additional 100 email addresses. The price for technical support for 100 additional email addresses equals $149. However, 75% of your one-year Support contract has already expired, so you only need to pay 25% of this price, which equals $37.25.
Example 2 (for customers who have not maintained the Support contract continuity)
You have 150 licenses for CodeTwo Exchange Rules 2016 and have purchased a Support contract 9 months ago for $261. Currently, you want to buy licenses for additional 100 email addresses. The price for technical support for additional 100 email addresses equals $186. However, 75% of your one-year Support contract has already expired, so you only need to pay 25% of the price, which equals $46.50.
