Barka – Foundation of Mutual Help
Barka Foundation is a non-governmental organization which offers support for social development of excluded groups. It provides conditions to enable people at risk to rebuild their lives by creating a system of mutual help, education and entrepreneurship.
All of 50 people currently employed by Barka use Microsoft Outlook on desktop computers or laptops. Before installing CodeTwo Public Folders, the company could not cope with the following problems:
- Outlook calendars, contacts and files could not be synchronized between computers to facilitate team work
- Project supervisors were unable to assign and remotely control employees' tasks.
The management of the company had thought of implementing Small Business Server, but its price and implementation time were not satisfactory and that's why they eventually decided to look for an alternative product.
The owner of Barka Foundation, Tomasz Sadowski, knew the company needs an economical Exchange Server substitute to let his workers share Outlook data between their computers to coordinate all projects. CodeTwo Public Folders turned out to be a perfect choice for Barka. "Calendar and contacts synchronization, as well as seamless sharing files are finally possible thanks to CodeTwo Public Folders. Our project supervisor has got what he's been waiting for for years – now he can assign tasks from Outlook remotely" – said Tomasz Sadowski. "The program is amazingly easy to use. Within minutes we were up and running with the Syncing Master and all client machines. My colleagues have finally discovered what a real teamwork is".
