Troubleshooting problems with installation of applications from outside the Windows Store

Windows 10 does not allow you to install CodeTwo software and displays a warning window (Fig. 1.) with the following error message:

You can only install apps from the Windows Store. Limiting installations to apps from the Store helps to keep your PC safe and reliable.

If you experience this issue, it means that your Windows is configured to block installation of applications from outside the Windows Store.

To solve this problem, you need to change your application installation settings:

  1. Open the Start menu and type settings and press Enter.
  2. The Settings window opens. Select Apps & features from the menu on the left and navigate to the Installing apps section (Fig. 2.).

  1. Use the drop-down menu to change your settings. Choose the option that allows you to install apps from anywhere or the one that warns you before installing apps from outside the Store (Fig. 3.).

  1. From now on, you can finish the installation of your CodeTwo product.

If you chose the option to warn you before installing apps from outside the Store (see Fig. 3.), you will still get a warning window when installing CodeTwo software. However, this time you can ignore the warning and install your application anyway (Fig. 4.).
