How to replace or rotate banners in your marketing campaigns

Problem:

CodeTwo Exchange Rules is capable of inserting images to footers added to corporate mail. The very same mechanism can be used to append larger image files such as banners.

Solution:

The banners can carry information related to your products, discount offers and the like. In CodeTwo Exchange Rules you can define precisely which users will receive banners in their messages to run the marketing campaigns in messages sent by e.g. sales personnel. This is done in Senders' Scope dialog box.

Naturally, you will want to replace the banners periodically to reflect the changes in your company's offer. For example, you may need to have a summer banner, winter banner, etc. This can be done in two ways.

  1. You can set multiple ad banner rules that will be activated by the server's administrator at certain times. You activate the rule by checking the box next to its name. You deactivate the rule by unchecking the box next to the rule's name.

  2. Alternatively, you can have just one banner rule and change the image file that is used in the template. For more convenient replacement, the new image file should have the same name and extension. With such a file, all you need to do is replace the old file with the new one. The template will still be able to pull new image file as the path and file name have not changed. The images can either be stored on a local drive of the server or can be retrieved from a Web location.
