Text in synchronized items is not correctly displayed
Problem
The font in the items synchronized using CodeTwo Outlook Sync is different from the font in the original items. For example, question marks (???) or jibberish appear (Fig. 1.).
Fig. 1. This is how synchronized items may look on the other machine.
Solution
In order to fix this issue, you need to:
- change the language settings in your system and set your language as the current language for non-Unicode programs
- change the language settings in Outlook and set your language as default.
Changing language (locale) settings in Windows
To change the language in your system, go to Windows Control Panel > Clock > Language and Region > Region and Language, choose the Administrative tab and in the Language for non-Unicode programs section click Change system locale. Select your language from the drop-down menu. The same settings must be implemented on the other machine to ensure compatibility. After the changes are applied, you must restart the machines.
Fig. 2. Changing the locale settings (this needs to be done on both machines).
Changing language settings in Outlook
If changing the language in your system did not help, you also need to set your language as default in Outlook. To do so, you need to:
- Open Outlook and go to File > Options > Language.
- Set your language as the default Display Language and Editing Language (Fig. 3.).
