Error: The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted
Problem:
You get the following error message when using CodeTwo software:
The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted.
Solution:
This error is related to your environment and the way your system manages domain-related queries or tasks. CodeTwo software uses default system-wide AD libraries. The above error can occur when our software attempts to perform read/write operations on your Active Directory, and the system is not able to handle them.
To solve this issue, you need to:
- Make sure the account used by your CodeTwo software is within your domain.
- Restart the machine on which the CodeTwo program is installed.
- Check the configuration of your domain controllers (DCs) and restart them.
- If the problem persists, contact your systems administrator and ask them to investigate the issue.
