Changing the default update time of an email message in the Sent Items Update module

Problem:

How to change the default update time of an email message in the Sent Items Update module.

Solution:

The Sent Items Update service in CodeTwo Exchange Rules PRO is responsible for displaying signatures in messages located in the Sent Items folder. Such signatures are not displayed instantaneously – processing a message already sent might take some time and is highly dependent on the current server load.

The standard waiting time, in which the Sent Items Update service is trying to modify an email is set to 6 minutes (or 360 seconds, as it is defined in the configuration file). In case of exceptionally high server load this value might be too low and some of the messages will not be updated. To fix such an issue it will be necessary to change the default message update time in the configuration file of the service.

In order to do that, open the configuration file located by default in

C:\Program Files\CodeTwo\CodeTwo Exchange Rules Pro\SentItemsUpdater.Service.exe.config

with a text editor (simple Notepad would be enough).

Then browse the configuration file until you find a line SentItemsUpdaterTimeItemStay and change its corresponding value to a higher one – e.g. 720 seconds.

The last step will be to restart the CodeTwo Sent Items Update PRO service – from the Services console of your system.
