Inserting Footers In Selected Places In Messages
CodeTwo Exchange Rules 2003 lets you choose where you want the footer to be placed in a message. Depending on what the footer includes, you may want it to be placed below the response text or at the very end of the message. This capability is useful in messages containing the history of previous correspondence such as replies or forwards. The message history may already contain your footers so it is essential that the new footer is well visible and does not interfere with the text integrity.

The place where you want to put your footers can be chosen while creating a new rule or editing an existing one in Advanced options dialog box in Replying and Forwarding section (Fig.1).

Insert disclaimer below the response text is typically used for personal signatures. In addition, uncheck Do not insert disclaimer if it is already found in the message. With such settings, the signature will always be placed below the most recent reply, and not at the bottom of the message.

Insert disclaimer at the very end of the message is typically selected if the footer consists of a company disclaimer. Check Do not insert disclaimer if it is already found in the message if you do not want to have multiple instances of the same company disclaimer in the correspondence. With such settings, the footer will be added at the very bottom of the message and only when the message body is devoid of it.

Do not insert disclaimer if it is already found in the message should be checked if you do not want to have the same footer repeated multiple times in the message when replying or forwarding.

CodeTwo Exchange Rules 2003 checks whether a footer is already found in the message and compares it with the footer template. When Do not insert disclaimer if it is already found in the message is checked, the footer will not be added if the message history already contains an identical footer. If there are other footers found in the message but with different content, CodeTwo Exchange Rules 2003, the footer will be added.

If a footer consist of an image only, CodeTwo Exchange Rules 2003 will not be able to find it and will continue to add it despite Do not insert disclaimer if it is already found in the message being checked.
