Sales forecasting and reporting system, based on Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Exchange.
Most of the companies which employ mobile workers, have certainly encountered the problem which has been tackled with by this project. A mobile worker spends most of the time meeting potential clients, which very often means no access to Internet and no chance of connecting to the company's server. Consequently, it is impossible to pass the data about the completed transactions or potential transactions, together with the probability of closing them, to the head office. In many companies that sort of data is the key information enabling executive managers to assess the work of each salesman and to draw conclusions from the situation.
Our system allows salesmen equipped only with laptops to enter, any time and anywhere, a detailed information about transactions, both closed and potential, products and client's personal data. The system temporarily stores the data on the laptop and the moment the salesman gets connection to Internet (e.g. at a hotel through ISDN connection or regular modem) or returns to the office, it automatically sends the data to the head office.
In that manner the system enables the salesman to work with the system on a regular basis, with no need of constant Internet connection, especially when it is inconvenient or impossible.
At the head office, on the other hand, executive managers are provided with a comprehensive overview of the situation, thanks to the broad interface of the user, which includes queries, analyses and reports concerning actual and potential sales. The data sent to the server is being encrypted in the RSA code and saved at Microsoft SQL Server, MSDE or Microsoft Access data base, which ensures high flexibility and scalability of the system.
