The most important new features introduced in CodeTwo Public Folders 4.0:
• Sharing of personal folders
Users can now share the data directly from their personal folders. Each user can publish the resources in
his personal folders. If the others in the network have the appropriate access rights, they can open each
other's shared personal folders. This new functionality makes data sharing in Outlook much more convenient and straightforward.

• Support for portable devices
From now on you can take advantage of all Outlook functionalities, as well as have access to
the public folders, use the reminders and synchronize data with portable devices, phones and PDAs.
• Protection of personal data
Data in the shared personal folders marked by its owner as "private" will not be visible to other users, even though they can see other items in these folders. This lets you protect your confidential information.
• Windows Remote Desktop support
In the newest version you can work with CodeTwo Public Folders using Windows Remote Desktop.
• Recycle bin on the server
On the server there are some additional "trash" folders that store all the items deleted from the shared folders. This allows you to recover mistakenly deleted data.
• Simplified configuration
From the current version, only one TCP port is used by the program, which makes configuration more simple. You will have to open only one port in your firewall and/or anti-virus software.
Now the administrator can also change the location of the database, which doesn't need to be kept in the program installation folder. It allows you to easily make the data backups.
• Improved anti-virus compatibility
In the previous versions there might have been some issues regarding compatibility with some anti-virus software. All these issues have been sorted out in version 4.0.
