Licensing
The licensing scheme for CodeTwo Exchange Rules is based on the version of operating system. Companies using Exchange Server 2000/2003 from Small Business Server package (SBS) will need one license for the whole server. Companies utilizing Exchange Server 2000/2003 in Windows Server that is not part of SBS package will need a separate license for each user who benefits from CodeTwo Exchange Rules. Licenses are sold in pack of 50, 100, 150, 250, 500, 1000.

Licenses for the software are perpetual.

How many licenses will I need?

You need to take into account the number of users who will benefit from CodeTwo Exchange Rules functionalities i.e. whose messages will be processed by the program. The number of required licenses may be lower than the total number of mailboxes hosted on the server or the number of accounts in Active Directory. If your organization has 100 users but the program is configured to process mail sent by only 50 of them, it is enough to buy a 50-user license. This does not concern SBS, where the license is attributed to the whole server and the number of users does not count.

How many licenses are currently in use?

The number of currently used licenses can be checked in the license.txt file, located in the installation folder of the program. By default, this will be C:\Program Files\CodeTwo\ExchangeRules\.

How do I buy additional licenses?

If necessary, you can always decide to buy additional licenses i.e. extend license packs. A singular price for each new user will be much lower comparing to the first purchase.

What if the same users have mailboxes spread on several servers?

If the organization has several Exchange servers, the licenses must be bought separately for each server. You may choose to buy different license packs depending on your needs. There are discounts for companies purchasing licenses for multiple servers:
2 servers: 20% off
3 servers: 30% off
4 and 5 servers: 35% off
6 or more servers: 40% off

Licensing in a cluster environment

If you need to install the program in a cluster environment, you need to equip each node with CodeTwo Exchange Rules since each node is treated as a separate machine. In a Passive/Active cluster the program must be installed and activated on both machines spearately.

I already have the previous version. How much is an upgrade?

Upgrading to CodeTwo Exchange Rules 2.0 from previous releases is payable but a discount of 50% is offered for users of previous version.

Registration and activation codes

Once the order is completed, the user will receive an activation code, which will upgrade the program from the demo version to full version. The activation code is generated on the basis of the provided registration code. More about registration and activation codes.
