CodeTwo FolderSync is an application, synchronizing data between the group of selected folders of Exchange Server. These can be any folders from user mailboxes and from public folders. The synchronization is performed automatically in real time.

A content synchronization issue of two or more folders occurs quite often in a day-to-day work with the Exchange Server. It concerns mainly users of portable devices, who connect to Outlook using ActiveSync to transfer the contents of the default mailbox folders to portable devices. In such situations, it's a very common issue when a user, for example, wants to use a shared contact list, featured in a public folder, but also wants to have that list locally in his mailbox to be able to synchronize it with PDA. In such situations, CodeTwo FolderSync can be an indispensable help. Thanks to CodeTwo FolderSync, the public folder containing a list of contacts can be synchronized with folders in user mailboxes, which makes it possible for all users to work on the same data on their PDAs, in their mailboxes and in the public folder.

CodeTwo FolderSync synchronizes the data between all folders, defined in a certain group. You can define synchronization groups for the first time when you install the program. If you want to change them later, you can use the configuration program, which can be found in Programs | CodeTwo | CodeTwo FolderSync | Configuration.

A group must contain folders of the same type (e.g.: contacts or calendar):

While adding a folder to a group you can select any folder from the Exchange Server - either a public folder or a folder from a mailbox of any user. A folder selection dialog box shows all mailboxes and public folders in an organization:

The CodeTwo FolderSync application is implemented as a system service. It's set up by the installation program and starts automatically when Windows starts. The service synchronizes all changes, made in the defined folders within each synchronization group in the background.

CodeTwo FolderSync can be installed on a computer with the Exchange server or on any other computer in the network, which has access to that server. If the Exchange server is not installed on the computer, at least Microsoft Outlook 98/2000 in the Corporate or Workgroup mode must be installed on that machine. If Outlook XP is installed, it has to have at least Service Pack 1.
