CodeTwo Exchange Rules applies the first rule from the list that matches the sender's and recipients' addresses.
Once the matching rule is found, a footer defined in the rule is added to the message and all remaining rules are
omitted.
It's a very common issue that the list of rules contains a lot of elements and the matching criteria in each of
them are also complex. To make it easier to test your rules, CodeTwo Exchange Rules provides you that feature.
To do so, click the Test Rules button in the main program window. You will then see the following dialog
box:
Fig.1. Test Rule Selection dialog box.
To see which rule will apply, enter a message sender's address and the addresses of its recipients.
Then click the Test rules button.
In the Selected Rule box you will see a detailed summary, describing which of the rules has been
accepted or rejected and why, after the message sender/recipients have been matched against the rules on
the rule list.
If any rule that matches the addresses you entered is found, the footer will appear in the Disclaimer Preview
box exactly as it would appear in the message, sent via the Exchange server from the same source and to the same recipients
as entered above.
Because each of the rules consists of a plain text and the HTML format, here you can also see how the footer in
any of these two formats will appear. To do so, click HTML Disclaimer or Plain Text Disclaimer
respectively.
