This documentation is based on version 1.0 of CodeTwo Exchange Rules 2007. To read the manual that applies to 2.0 click here.
CodeTwo Exchange Rules adds disclaimers to the messages at the time they're being sent via the Exchange 2007 server. The program has to be installed on a computer used for sending mail, where the Hub Transport role of Microsoft Exchange 2007 is installed. Additionally, the computer must have Exchange 2007 Service Pack 1 installed.
The program supports Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008 operating systems.
If there are several Hub Transport servers in the organization, the software should be installed on the one, depending on the configuration of the message sending paths. If all messages are sent via one of the Hub Transport servers, you only need to install the program on that machine. If however, the messages are sent independently via several Hub Transport servers, CodeTwo Exchange Rules 2007 should be installed on each of them. In that case, be careful about the way you define the rules (the scope of senders/recipients)to make sure that the message traveling through several servers does NOT get disclaimers on each server.
If you need to install the program in a cluster environment, you need to equip each node with CodeTwo Exchange Rules 2007 since each node is treated as a separate machine. In a Passive/Active cluster the program must be installed and activated on both machines spearately.
Remember that CodeTwo Exchange Rules must NOT be installed on a shared disk. The program must be installed on a local disk on each node.
