Our most powerful Outlook synchronization plugin, CodeTwo Public Folders has been updated to version 4.7.4. Although the newest build doesn’t introduce any new features, it fixes some minor bugs from the previous releases. Like most of CodeTwo updates, this one is also free of charge for all users that own the license for the current version of the program (4.x). Feel free to download and install it on your machines!
Here is the full lists of fixes included in version 4.7.4:
Drafts folders are excluded from the synchronization process of C2PublicFolders folder tree.
In some cases, the program settings were not properly saved when closing the Administration Panel window.
In some cases, users were losing the rights to edit or remove items which they owned.
In some cases, a user was able to use the context menu to publish a folder which was located outside the default Outlook PST file.
Just to remind you… To successfully perform an update on CodeTwo Public Folders, both the Syncing master and all Outlook Add-Ins need to be updated. We don’t provide automatic updates. The newest installer needs to be downloaded and installed on top of existing installations manually. All previous settings will be kept.
CodeTwo Public Folders is a great app for sharing Outlook folders between many PCs in a local network. It allows creating public folders in the Outlook folder tree, sharing personal Outlook data with others and managing detailed access rights to shared items. At the same time the program requires no server deployment and no day-to-day maintenance is involved. See the video below for more details about this powerful collaboration tool. It REALLY is that simple.

These are the minor improvements users requested from us during the past weeks. Thank you for all your bug reports and feature requests guys! For those of you who don’t know CodeTwo Outlook Sync yet, here’s a short walk-through of its features:
We have just released an update to CodeTwo Exchange Sync. The new version 2.2.4 includes several minor bug fixes and changes you have requested recently. We recommend all users to download the new installer and update their current installations.
Here is the full list of changes in version 2.2.4:
C2ExchangeSyncService-{GUID} profile created for the synchronization service is not removed during reinstallation/update. Its removal in earlier versions caused an issue starting the service if Exchange Sync worked in MAPI profile mode.
MAPI Profile mode detection improved. In earlier version the mode was detected only until the ‘Outlook conflict warning’ was closed ‘Do not show again’.
Support for Windows 2000.
Dynamic loading of MAPI libraries changed.
The update is free of charge for all current license owners. To update your software, download the newest installer and install it on top of the existing installation. The previous version will be automatically patched and all your settings will be kept.
One of our flagship products – CodeTwo Public Folders, has been enhanced with new features and its updated version is ready to be downloaded from our website. Above all, the program’s Syncing Master is now equipped with a brand new Administration panel, which gives a better control of shared folders database and allows the administrator to easily access the synchronization settings.
Here’s the full list of things added to CodeTwo Public Folders in version 4.7:
The software has a completely new UI of the Administration panel.
The administrator can now easily retrieve folders that were accidentally removed by users.
The program can now create and manage database backup copies.
The software allows users to easily transfer their databases from one machine to another.
The program is now able to synchronize folder views and non-standard custom forms.
The user can now control the status of the C2PublicFolders system service from the Administration panel. One can also define the database location, change the log files folder path or modify the listening ports used by the software.
The user can now check the following licensing information from the Administration panel:
- license type (trial, temporary key, full license),
- license key,
- list of currently licensed users,
- number of available licenses.
The server module can now synchronize any type of user-defined data, for example other programs’ settings.
There is now only one setup wizard for x64 and x86 versions. The software automatically chooses which version to install.
The update is free of charge for all license owners. To successfully update your software, both the Syncing Master and all Outlook Add-ins need to be updated. Note that there’s currently only one installer for both 32- and 64-bit machines. It automatically detects which version of Outlook you are running and installs the correct one.
It’s been raining cats and dogs for two days now and a lot of people in our town have stuck in a rut and they start to look like they won’t snap out of it.
Now you can run the licensing module from within the main application window.
The program can now correctly sync a read/unread state of messages.
Deleted items are now copied to the C2Backup folder. All items deleted by the program are also saved in the special folder called C2Backup.
Notifications in Windows XP tray area are now displayed properly.
Now the program checks its protocol version against other instances of the software present in the environment. If they are not compatible the appropriate notification window will be shown.
To update the program, just install it on top of the existing installation, and it will be patched automatically.
