CodeTwo Public Folders 4.7 available

CodeTwo Public FoldersOne of our flagship products – CodeTwo Public Folders, has been enhanced with new features and its updated version is ready to be downloaded from our website. Above all, the program’s Syncing Master is now equipped with a brand new Administration panel, which gives a better control of shared folders database and allows the administrator to easily access the synchronization settings.

Here’s the full list of things added to CodeTwo Public Folders in version 4.7:

  • The software has a completely new UI of the Administration panel.
  • The administrator can now easily retrieve folders that were accidentally removed by users.
  • The program can now create and manage database backup copies.
  • The software allows users to easily transfer their databases from one machine to another.
  • The program is now able to synchronize folder views and non-standard custom forms.
  • The user can now control the status of the C2PublicFolders system service from the Administration panel. One can also define the database location, change the log files folder path or modify the listening ports used by the software.
  • The user can now check the following licensing information from the Administration panel:
    - license type (trial, temporary key, full license),
    - license key,
    - list of currently licensed users,
    - number of available licenses.
  • The server module can now synchronize any type of user-defined data, for example other programs’ settings.
  • There is now only one setup wizard for x64 and x86 versions. The software automatically chooses which version to install.

The update is free of charge for all license owners. To successfully update your software, both the Syncing Master and all Outlook Add-ins need to be updated. Note that there’s currently only one installer for both 32- and 64-bit machines. It automatically detects which version of Outlook you are running and installs the correct one.

CodeTwo CatMan Works With Microsoft Outlook 2010 64-bit

CodeTwo CatManWe are happy to announce that CodeTwo CatMan, the free Outlook add-in from CodeTwo designed for sharing Outlook categories in a network of multiple users, has been updated to version 3.2.0. It is now full compatible with Microsoft Outlook 2010 64-bit. We encourage you to download it for free from our website.

Thanks to CodeTwo CatMan you will be able to share Outlook categories to all your teammates. Using the program, it is possible to divide Outlook categories into two groups: public and private. All changes to public items are saved to an external TXT file placed on the network drive or a WWW/FTP server, which is monitored by every mail client connected to the network. Owing to this, any time one of the public categories is added, deleted or modified, data on the TXT file is updated accordingly and then changes are applied on each of the linked workstations. It is not necessary to finger-type the changes on every single computer anymore.

CodeTwo CatMan helps to organize groupwork in a better way and save a lot of precious time. Feel free to download the program for free from our website. If you are interested in an application giving more Outlook sharing abilities, learn more about CodeTwo Public Folders – the most powerful Microsoft Outlook sharing plug-in from CodeTwo.

CodeTwo Exchange Rules 2007 2.1 – Minor Update

We have released a minor update versioned 2.1 to CodeTwo Exchange Rules 2007, an application used in the management of disclaimers and signatures in Exchange mail. The new items in the program include:

  • It is possible to split a single message sent to large number of users to insert varied disclaimers. This feature is useful when a message needs to be processed by multiple rules of CodeTwo Exchange Rules 2007, e.g. a single message need different footers for different recipients. By default a message sent to multiple users will be handled as a single message by Exchange Server. This is why inserting different footers caused a problem. This is now fixed. Read more about how to split messages addressed to multiple recipients.
  • It is possible now to add custom Active Directory fields used by the program. The file containing custom variables named SchemaExtension.txt must be placed in the installation directory of the application. The newly added variables are available in the signature editor after restarting the server. Read more about how to add new AD fields to the program.
  • Extra Active Directory cache has been added to the application. This will reduce the queries to Active Directory leading to enhanced performance.
  • New installer for a desktop installation. It is possible to install the program on a desktop without Exchange. This is useful for customers who want non-admin users without access to Exchange to prepare the settings and footer templates to be later copied to the server. Read more about how to use the desktop version.

For a full list of changes, please see the version history page.

The update is dedicated for users of 2.0 and is free of charge. To update the currently used version with the fix, download and run the installer. The previous version will be automatically detected and patched. Detailed information on the update procedure can be found here.
