In October Microsoft published the patch for MS Outlook 2007 described in the article KB972363, which installs the security update MS09-060. The update resolves the vulnerabilities in ATL ActiveX Controls. After installing this update the users of our free tool CodeTwo CatMan may experience problems with disappearing of the private categories or with proper displaying the colors of the categories.
After installing this update, Outlook 2007 stopped being resistant to frequent operations on the categories from Master Category List and this was the root cause of the problem. To let our users work with the software without problems we have just published the new version of CodeTwo CatMan which has been optimized to operate on categories properly.
We advise all CodeTwo CatMan users to upgrade to the latest version available on program website. If you haven’t tested CatMan yet, it may be a good time to do it. This freeware lets the users in the network share the categories for all elements in Outlook.
Winter has come… It does sound like a title of a very popular tune but it concerns the reality. This winter has surprised everybody not only because it came so early but mainly because it was totally unexpected. Most of the city woke up and realized they were going to spend all their way to work drifting on every curve like in a well-known computer game. Fortunately there was no change in the “weather” for CodeTwo. Everybody arrived early, traditionally with disarming smiles, ready to sing Jingle Bells during a morning briefing. Apart from that, it was promising to be a typical day. However, a very interesting creature, made of snow, grapevine stems and an unidentified matter, tapped on the window in the technical support room. We didn’t know what to do as it neither wanted food (even though there were some delicious pierogies in the fridge), nor it wanted money. Finally, we decided to give it our footer. I guess it liked it very much, ehh?

We have long waited for this moment but finally we’ve made it. CodeTwo Public Folders product website now includes a short 5-minute video presentation of the key features of our flagship application. Just a reminder for those of you who have not had their go at the program – CodeTwo Public Folders is software that enables quick and efficient sharing of data in Microsoft Outlook in the network.
A vast number of our users have been asking questions about disabling Outlook signatures that, once CodeTwo Exchange Rules is on board, seem not to be important anymore. If you have thousands of users, asking them to switch Outlook signature off or (God forbid!) doing it alone one-by-one might do more harm than good.
However, you can use Group Policy Object, the tool for Exchange server, and disable adding all signatures created in Outlook. Step-by-step guide to disabling Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007 signatures for Exchange users can be found in knowledge base in an article entitled: How to disable adding signatures created in Outlook for Exchange users
On 24 Aug 2009 Microsoft released Service Pack 2 to Microsoft Exchange 2007. To view the list of issues that are fixed with the latest service pack 2 click here.
Naturally, following its launch our lab embarked on a testing spree to check the compatibility of our products with the big brother’s application. The tests included CodeTwo Exchange Rules 2007 v.1.0 and v.2.0 – our flagship product used to manage signatures/disclaimers/branding for Exchange mail. It is our sheer pleasure to announce that no issues have been found to exist between CodeTwo Exchange Rules 2007 and Exchange Server equipped with Service pack 2.
